  • Outstanding Service Award - Jim Christianson

This fall Jim Christianson was also presented with the Outstanding Service Award at the Minnesota Service Cooperatives Conference.

Jim has been on the Northwest Service Cooperative board for eight years and has served on the Badger School Board for two decades.

Jim believes in promoting "what will be best for our students" and "thinking outside of the box". Just because we have always done something a certain way may not be the good answer.

He is a firm believer in the role of service cooperatives and the invaluable services they provide to our schools, cities, counties, and other governmental agencies. The development of the Minnesota Healthcare Consortium and working with Medica is a large step forward in helping to contain the rising costs of health insurance for members.

Jim and his wife, Carol, moved from the Badger area to the Warroad area two years ago to be closer to family. They have two sons, a daughter, and fourteen grandchildren in the Warroad area, with six grandchildren in the hockey programs.

Jim, a former member of the Minnesota Army National Guard, currently serves on the Roseau Electric Cooperative, Inc., Roseau County Mutual Insurance Company, and the Roseau County Historical Society Board.

Congratulations Jim! The Northwest Service Cooperative thanks you for all that you have done and continue to do!
