Standard Adult High School Diploma

  • Now Available at NWSC ABE Classrooms

In 2014 the Minnesota legislature approved a new, competency-based option for adults to obtain a secondary credential.  Prior to the standard adult diploma, there were only two high school completion options for adults in MN: the traditional K-12 diploma and the test-based secondary certificate, more commonly known as GED.

The Standard Adult Diploma provides an important and valuable alternative to these two existing options.  As of June 2017, more than 260 individuals have been awarded a standard adult diploma.

Beginning September 2017 the Standard Adult diploma is offered through all NWSC ABE classrooms.
